Alabama Solutions Plastic Straw-Free sample pack!

We support going plastic straw free! Benefits are removing the habits of harmful one use plastics as well as saving our sea and sea creatures.

To Do:
🎗No worries on doing it all, just focus on what you need to do.
  • We have made mini and full sized flyers to post at bars and restaurants, the small ones being used to tape to their straw holders as a reminder to patrons on how to go straw free to save sea life. You can print them @SaveSeaLife.
  • Send a small message to restaurants and ask if we could post them there. Here's the message I sent to Below The Radar Brewhouse before they said yes! " Hi! This is Cortney from Alabama Solutions. Are you interested in receiving our free Save Sea Life flyers for your strawholders? Its a simple solution to remind patrons to save sea life, all you have to do is refrain from using a plastic straw. Here it is at AM Booth's Lumberyard. <sent the picture above> Let us know if you'd love to have these and how many you'll need."
  • Check out our free sample service above. For our members, you can print our thank cards @StrawFreeSamples . Will include a pack of eco friendly straws and a thank you letter with a reminder of our 2 step process. Contact us here if you're a business owner who'd like a free sample.
  • Join the movement @ The Last Plastic Straw.
  • Request no straw if you're a patron.
  • Servers & bartenders: Please give straws to patrons only when they ask.
  • For disabled patrons, check out alternative eco friendly straws and reviews at The Mighty
  • Use eco friendly straws as an alternative such as Aardvark Straws. Many restaurants are using eco friendly so many of us who may need a straw really don't have to do anything but ask for one guilt free. These are Made in the USA, bendable, and they also support the Sea Turtle Conservation.

Here's the list of restaurants who are going straw free and whose accepted our flyers and getting started!:
  • AM Booth's Lumberyard
  • Below The Radar Brewhouse
  • The Green Bus Brewing
  • Humphrey's Bar & Grill
  • OTBX - Old Town Beer Exchange
  • Big Oh's
  • Sam & Greg's Pizzaria
  • Kaffee Klatsch

... more pending...

Plastic isn't all that bad. What we do know is that it's a well preserved product. We can use that to our advantage, we are just not using it in the right way. For instance, people have been using it as building supplies, art crafts, and healthcare and hygiene. So please remember to reuse and recycle. While we're figuring out how to properly use the oil-based plastic, we have hemp-based disposable plastic that can decompose within 2 months as well as beeswax food wraps.

Don't lose hope. There is life here on Earth that eats oil based plastic, like the meal worm and fungi.

In conclusion,
disposable oil based plastics are an issue. Wherever you are, look around, what do you see? Any litter you spot, it's a likely chance that it's oil based plastic. Imagine, if we continue to find and apply solutions, all that ugly litter would be gone.
Share this blog and continue to work towards going straw free, reusing/ recycling, to save our planet.
