First let me start this by saying, I live in mental illness recovery. What that means is, I was given a proper diagnosis, given proper treatment options, & constantly worked on daily mental health goals in order to overcome & put myself into recovery to properly function back into society. I was diagnosed with PTSD & bipolar disorder in 2014 that almost cost me my life. Luckily at that time, I was living in a state with Medicaid expansion to receive affordable mental healthcare & treatment starting with my diagnosis. Because of a caring community that focused on affordable care, more people like me had the chance to heal & live. With that, I absolutely believe there is hope in every illness with the right knowledge & care. Here is what helped me & constantly helps me to have vital, beautiful mental health. 1st Step | Getting a diagnosis. It's sometimes easier said than done, but if you can please do. If anyone were like me, in & out of sanity so it was damn near impossible to be honest enough to get myself help, try things like meditation, good rest, cardio, or a walk in the park can help get the honesty juices flowing so you can have a window of opportunity to make that call or text for help. Contact the AL warm line 1-844-999-4647 for peer to peer support 7 days a week . For more info click Wings Across Alabama. Text 741-741 for the mental health hotline. 2nd Step | Treatment options. I personally chose to go the natural route first & was monitored to make sure it really worked by a nurse practitioner at the mental health clinic. Since Lithium Orotate worked for me, I continued on with other mental healthcare treatments such as talk therapy. Other treatments with promising effects are Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy & Yoga along with eating well & exercising. 3rd Step | Consistency in daily mental healthcare practices & enjoying the freedom of thought & free will. Being mentally ill, it was scary to remember terrible people can & will take advantage of you. Another reason why helping someone including ourselves out of mental illness is vital & very urgent. My new mantra is to focus on heaven on Earth. I noticed that critical thinking became an easier practice than before as well as healthier relationships, friendships & work ethic. I am alive again. If you have a near & dear one who is active or a veteran in the military, ask and see if they would like a complimentary "Military Relief" print. I hope this has helped you or loved one as much as it's helped me.
Take care & as always stay well, stay safe. In courage, Cortney
