Born in Fort Polk, LA, Cortney was introduced to a Bayou atmosphere, Korean - Cajun cooking, & the military lifestyle. Blended with South Korean and European American, she was one out of many others who was mixed race in our melting pot country. Unfortunately, she was born, along with the neighboring military babies, with a severe birth defect that year. Learning about the environmental pollution that caused their misfortune and contributed to her muteness as a child as well as gut issues, she became even more passionate about taking care of the environment. As she grew, being raised by parents and guardians with severe mental illnesses, she had a lot to heal from with a newfound passion for mental health and inner peace. She failed, learned, and lived to luckily find strong individuals to help her on her path. Understanding that to sustain herself she had to be mentally well. Listening to those with healed experiences led her to have her own. There she began her journey finding, funding, and creating community safety nets bridging the gap for societal wellness & prosperity. Alabama Solutions, a grassroots movement was born. Since then, these tried and true solutions led a foundation and is uploaded to this website.
