What we've accomplished so far...

Since I began this journey in creating a group in Alabama for forward movement, I was bursting with ideas. Although I was aware of the elements that were against the change, I had hope. Regardless of our differences, we all want a good life. We want to be able to live freely, to work efficiently, and have meaningful and prosperous connections. Since November 2016, we are inching closer to those things. It took hard work, a lot of meditation, and the right connections in order to fulfill these accomplishments. I want to thank those in the group and future members for being who you are in the world, and I want to thank those who have influenced us to be the determined and caring individuals that we are today. Thank you <3

Philanthropy- Over the course of 17 months we've given $1700 to local Alabama nonprofits that have benefited Alabama people, by means of education, safety, basic necessities, and quality care.  Below we were given the honor of being invited to the Women's Guild Denim & Diamonds for Kids To Love. A nonprofit to help care for the needs of Foster Kids in Alabama.

Comprehensive Sex Education- We have made it possible for more people to have access to Comprehensive Sex Education with ARRA's (Alabama Reproductive Rights Advocates) comprehensive sex ed brochures, " Sex, Just The Facts" by placing them, with permission, at:
-Lowe Mill in Huntsville
-3 Library Branches in the Madison County area
-& Free2Be in Huntsville

Below is Sex, Just The Facts in the Public Lounge at the Huntsville-Madison Library and also there is a donated piece of art made by Cortney for the clinic protectors in Huntsville. It's a black exterior with a sunflower interior umbrella with the words, "None of your Business." Something for the pro-life protesters who harass female patients to look at.

Public Education- Handing out study guides and teaching amazing schooling tips have helped students from middle school to college with direction to ease school stress & anxiety. They can be used with homework and projects too! Check out the full study guide here.

Sustainable Living- We've talked to Alabama gardeners & farmers on how to effectively grow & raise local & foreign foods in order to be more self sufficient and self reliant in our lives. Recently, we placed these "Save the Sea" stickers on straw holders at AM Booth's Lumberyard in Huntsville.  A big thank you to Morgan, the GM and Doug the Owner for allowing us to remind their customers the importance in going straw free! Looking forward to doing the same for more local bars and restaurants.

Living Wages- We have showed many ways of achieving living wages by organizing your finances and seeing how much you should be making in order to survive and thrive, being bold and asking for said income, and being successful in a roommate situation to save money in living.

Healthy Living- In April's meeting we will have Bev of Millions For Medicare and Shehnaz from the BEMER Group to be joining us on how to better enable Healthy Living in Alabama! I have posted free clinics in the area for those without health insurance or missing important services from their health insurance as well as invaluable preventative care on our "healthy living" posts here.
